Would you like to be a Volunteer Snow Warden?
Glapwell Parish Council has signed up to join Derbyshire County Council’s Snow Warden Scheme.
We would now like to recruit local community volunteers who would help to clear snow and ice from public footpaths and side roads to improve accessibility and safety during severe winter weather.
Your responsibility would be to clear snow and ice and spread salt/grit onto pavements and paths.
As a volunteer you would focus on areas not covered by Derbyshire County Council, helping ensure safer passage for vulnerable residents who may struggle with icy conditions.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer, please contact the clerk on:
You will undertake a free online training course and receive advice on how to clear snow and ice safely.
