Bolsover District Council and Bolsover Partnership: Big Strong Man

Following a 12-month extension to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) by the UK Government, Bolsover District Council and Bolsover Partnership have allocated funding to The Growth House to develop a new programme of events and community engagement: Big Strong Man.
This initiative is a direct response to the rising levels of depression and suicide across the district. The programme will feature four live performances—one in each of the district’s main service centres—alongside a series of creative community workshops. These workshops will allow residents to contribute to the shows through poetry, storytelling, singing, and dance improvisation, supported by local community interest groups.
While the shows focus on the theme of male suicide, they are inclusive and open to all genders, aiming to foster open dialogue and community resilience.
